Traveling is a journey of discovery, and it often starts with the first destination we visit. We remember that special moment when our eyes are opened to new cultures, cuisines, and experiences. It's like falling in love for the first time - there is no greater feeling than being taken away by wanderlust!

This Valentine’s Day we want to celebrate those unforgettable moments when travel has made us feel alive. Whether it was a stunning sunset over an ancient ruin or a mouthwatering meal on a bustling street corner – let’s reflect on all the places that have given us butterflies in our stomachs and hearts full of joy. Let’s take a trip down memory lane as we reminisce about our favorite destinations!

Falling in love with your destination

Falling in love with a destination when traveling is an incredible experience. It can be as thrilling and exciting as the first time we’ve ever felt love for another person. We can find ourselves swept away in a wave of excitement, awe, and reverence for the new cultures, cuisines, and experiences that await us. There is something about this feeling of falling in love for the first time that captivates us and makes us feel alive.

When we fall in love with a new destination, we have the opportunity to explore and discover something new about ourselves and others. We learn to appreciate different perspectives, live life outside of our comfort zones, and form meaningful connections with people from different backgrounds. Through travel, we can build bridges between cultures, break down barriers of misunderstanding, and expand our worldviews as we immerse ourselves in unfamiliar terrains.

But falling in love with a destination isn't just limited to exploring its physical wonders. It's also becoming acquainted with its people - those who call it home - by hearing their stories, understanding their struggles, and developing relationships beyond surface-level conversations. Immersing oneself in local communities allows us to gain insight into their culture and history - knowledge that cannot be obtained through books or online articles.

And when it comes time for us to depart our newfound home-away-from-home? We take with us something that no one can ever take away – memories of moments spent living fully within them - stories shared over dinner tables or laughter during late-night adventures that will forever remain etched onto our hearts. We return home feeling inspired by what we've experienced - enriched by a feeling only known by those who have allowed themselves to be taken away by wanderlust.

In France, the holiday is known as Saint Valentin's Day but it has been replaced by La Fête des Amoureux (Lover's Fest). On this day people exchange small presents such as chocolate boxes or small bouquets of roses while enjoying candlelight dinners in restaurants or bistros throughout the country. Additionally, it is customary for couples to enjoy passion fruit cocktails during these festivities.
